Review and alternatives

Lifeforce review, and the right alternative for your goal

Lifeforce sells a longevity membership with quarterly labs, long clinician visits, and hormone care. Here's what you get, and where to go instead if your goal is different, especially if it's cholesterol.

Online, nationwide in the US. Protocols written by a board-certified preventive cardiologist.

TL;DR

Lifeforce fits well if you want hormone and longevity care with frequent labs and long clinician visits, for $149 a month plus an upfront diagnostic. Its clinicians can prescribe a statin or ezetimibe when appropriate. If you mostly want lab data, Function Health or Superpower cost less. If your main concern is LDL cholesterol (LDL-C), ApoB, or Lp(a), lipid-focused care like Preval Health works toward a target.

Our take on Lifeforce

Lifeforce runs a well-built longevity program that treats cholesterol as one part.

What it does well. Labs every three months show how your numbers change through the year, and a 45-minute visit gives you generous clinician time. The membership bundles coaching and access to prescriptions in one place. For someone focused on hormones, energy, and healthy aging, the pieces fit together well.

Cholesterol at Lifeforce. Lifeforce clinicians can prescribe rosuvastatin and ezetimibe for members when appropriate, based on labs and a video consult. That covers the first steps for many people. We didn't find PCSK9 inhibitors listed.

Things to weigh. Prescriptions require an active membership, so the medicine comes with an ongoing monthly fee. And if you mainly care about one number, like ApoB, you'll pay for a lot of program around it.

Lifeforce alternatives, by goal

If your goal isConsiderWhy
Hormones and longevity, broadlyLifeforce itself, or SuperpowerIf hormones are your main reason, Lifeforce builds its program around them. Superpower ($349 a year) pairs two yearly lab draws with a marketplace that includes testosterone and GLP-1 prescriptions, priced separately.
Broad lab testing, without a monthly feeFunction Health or SuperpowerBoth include ApoB and Lp(a) across two draws a year, for $365 and $349 a year respectively. Neither prescribes cholesterol medicines.
Lifestyle and fitness trackingInsideTrackerA $149-a-year membership where you can upload existing labs, with nutrition, supplement, and exercise recommendations. No prescriptions.
Cholesterol, ApoB, or Lp(a) specificallyYour primary care clinician, or lipid-focused care like Preval HealthPrimary care handles most cholesterol well with insurance. A practice that does only lipid care makes sense if you're not at goal on a statin, can't tolerate one, or need a PCSK9 inhibitor.

If cholesterol is the reason you're looking

Look for care built around an LDL and ApoB target. Start with your primary care clinician. A lipid-only practice helps when you're not at goal or can't take a statin.

Preval Health does prescription lipid management only. A board-certified preventive cardiologist wrote our treatment protocols, and licensed clinicians in our partner telehealth network deliver care and write prescriptions.

  • An LDL and ApoB goal based on your risk, using the 2026 ACC/AHA targets
  • Rechecks on a schedule, and step-up treatment when you're not at goal
  • The full toolkit, from statins and ezetimibe to PCSK9 inhibitors (Repatha, Praluent, Lipfendra, or Lerochol), with a plan for statin intolerance
  • We start from your existing labs, including Lifeforce, Function, or Superpower results
  • A cash practice: $99 a month for care, and no prior authorization wait.

Not sure what your number means yet? Start with how to lower LDL or how to lower ApoB.

Common questions

Is Lifeforce any good?

It does its intended job well: an at-home blood draw every three months, 45-minute visits with a clinician, health coaching, and prescriptions when appropriate, including hormones. It suits people who want an ongoing longevity and hormone program. If your main concern is cholesterol, you'll pay for a broad program that treats cholesterol as one part.

Is Lifeforce worth it?

It depends on what you'll use. At $149 a month plus an upfront diagnostic listed at $599 (as of October 2026), it pays off mostly if you want quarterly labs, long clinician visits, coaching, and hormone care together. If you mainly want lab data, Function Health or Superpower cost about $350 to $365 a year. If you mainly want cholesterol treated, a primary care clinician or lipid-focused practice may be a better fit.

Does Lifeforce prescribe statins?

Yes. As of October 2026, Lifeforce lists rosuvastatin and ezetimibe as products available to members, contingent on blood test results and a clinician video consult. You need an active membership ($149 a month) and the Lifeforce Diagnostic to qualify.

What is a good alternative to Lifeforce for cholesterol?

Start with your primary care clinician, who can treat most high cholesterol using insurance. If you need more, such as reaching a lower LDL or ApoB goal, managing statin intolerance, or getting a PCSK9 inhibitor approved, a practice that focuses only on lipids, like Preval Health, handles that.

Is Lifeforce available in my state?

Lifeforce's product pages say you must live in an eligible state to get prescriptions, but those pages don't list the states. Check with Lifeforce directly before you sign up.

Can Lifeforce prescribe a PCSK9 inhibitor?

We didn't find one listed. As of October 2026, the cholesterol medicines on Lifeforce's product pages are rosuvastatin and ezetimibe. If you may need a PCSK9 inhibitor such as Repatha, Praluent, Lipfendra, or Lerochol, a lipid-focused practice or your own clinician can help with the prior authorization or a cash-pay option.
