Wild Health, and the alternatives

What Wild Health offers and costs, how its DNA analysis compares with a clinical gene panel, and who should pick which.

Online, nationwide in the US. Protocols written by a board-certified preventive cardiologist.

TL;DR

Wild Health uses your DNA, labs and coaching to shape a whole health plan across diet, exercise, sleep and supplements. Preval Health uses longevity genetic testing and advanced lipid labs to focus on LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) and ApoB, the particles behind the leading cause of death. Pick Wild Health for broad lifestyle coaching, or Preval Health for prescription treatment to a cholesterol goal.

Two ways to use your genes

QuestionWild HealthPreval Health
What does the DNA test read?700,000+ SNPsSequencing of about 400 genes in a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited lab, ordered by your clinician
What do the results change?Diet, exercise, sleep and supplement recommendationsThey confirm inherited high cholesterol, flag high Lp(a), and set which statin and dose fit you
What's the goal?Biomarkers in optimal ranges across the bodyLDL-C and ApoB at a goal set for you, rechecked after every change
Cholesterol medicines?Part of a broader physician-guided planStatins, ezetimibe, bempedoic acid, and PCSK9 inhibitors (Repatha, Praluent, Lipfendra, Lerochol)
Insurance? Not accepted right now$99 a month for care; medicines at cash prices

Both approaches have a place. Lifestyle shapes every biomarker. For LDL and ApoB, though, the largest and most consistent benefit in trials comes from lowering them with medicine, early and for years. See longevity genetic testing and is high cholesterol genetic?

Common questions

What is Wild Health?

Wild Health, based in Lexington, Kentucky, offers genetics-based precision medicine. Its own site describes custom DNA analysis of more than 700,000 SNPs (common single-letter DNA differences), quarterly lab testing, physician visits and health coaching, combined into a personal health report with nutrition, exercise, sleep and supplement recommendations. Its physicians serve all 50 states by telehealth.

How much does Wild Health cost?

As of October 2026, Wild Health's DNA testing page lists membership starting at $362 a month, with genetic testing, quarterly bloodwork and quarterly physician visits. Its Premium Peak tier costs $25,000 a year, and Premium Elite pricing comes on request.

Does Wild Health take insurance?

Wild Health's site says it doesn't accept insurance right now and hopes to soon. Preval Health also runs as a cash practice, with no insurance billing.

Who owns Wild Health?

LivePerson bought Wild Health in 2022 and, according to LivePerson's 2024 SEC filings, sold all of it to a third party in the second quarter of 2024. Wild Health continues to operate under its own name.

How does Wild Health's DNA test compare with longevity genetic testing at Preval Health?

Wild Health analyzes more than 700,000 SNPs and applies them mostly to lifestyle choices such as diet, exercise, sleep and supplements. Our optional longevity genetic testing, ordered by your clinician at your first visit, uses sequencing of about 400 genes in a CLIA-certified, CAP-accredited lab to look for variants that change medical care: inherited high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolemia), high Lp(a), statin side-effect risk, and metabolic and liver risk genes. You choose before testing whether to learn Alzheimer's risk genes, and a genetic counselor shares those results. One cholesterol gene, APOE, also carries Alzheimer's information, and your clinician explains that before you test.

Does Preval Health treat anything besides cholesterol?

No. We do lipid care only: LDL, ApoB and Lp(a)-related risk, aimed at a goal with statins, ezetimibe, bempedoic acid and PCSK9 inhibitors. If your genetic results point to another condition, such as a diabetes gene, we refer you to the right specialist.
