Longevity clinics, compared
What longevity clinics and longevity doctors offer, what they cost, and where cholesterol care fits in a plan to live longer.

TL;DR
Longevity clinics cover a lot of ground: imaging, lab panels, hormones, coaching, supplements. Heart disease still kills more Americans than anything else, and lowering ApoB and LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) ranks among the best-proven ways to prevent it. Preval Health focuses on that one target: lipid care only, with a goal set for you, scheduled rechecks, and treatment from statins through PCSK9 inhibitors.
Where the longevity evidence runs strongest
- Heart disease leads the list. The CDC counted 683,037 heart disease deaths in the US in 2024, more than any other cause.
- ApoB particles cause the plaque. The European Atherosclerosis Society consensus (Ference, 2017) pulled together genetic studies, cohort studies and randomized trials and concluded that LDL causes atherosclerotic heart disease, and that risk grows with both how high LDL runs and for how many years.
- Lowering LDL saves lives. Across statin trials, every 39 mg/dL (1 mmol/L) drop in LDL-C cut major vascular events by about 22% and deaths from any cause by about 10% (Cholesterol Treatment Trialists, Lancet 2010).
- Lower keeps helping. Adding a PCSK9 inhibitor on top of a statin cut major cardiovascular events by about 15% in FOURIER (evolocumab, 2017) and ODYSSEY OUTCOMES (alirocumab, 2018), with LDL-C pushed well below 70 mg/dL.

Which kind of care fits you
A whole-body diagnostic clinic, if
- You want imaging (whole-body MRI, coronary CT) and a full baseline in one place
- You live near a center and the budget runs to thousands a year
- You already have a doctor to act on the findings
A lab-first membership, if
- You want a broad yearly look at 150+ biomarkers
- You like tracking trends in an app
- You plan to take the results to your own doctor
Hormone and longevity telehealth, if
- Testosterone, menopause or weight sits at the top of your list
- You want coaching and regular labs from one platform
Preval Health, if
- Your LDL, ApoB or Lp(a) runs high, or heart disease runs in your family
- You want a specific goal and a plan that steps up until you reach it
- You may need a PCSK9 inhibitor (Repatha, Praluent, Lipfendra or Lerochol)
- You want longevity genetic testing that feeds straight into your treatment
We focus only on lipid care. A board-certified preventive cardiologist wrote our treatment protocols, and licensed clinicians in our partner telehealth network deliver care and write prescriptions. We check ApoB and Lp(a), set a goal, recheck after every change, and step up from statins to ezetimibe, bempedoic acid and PCSK9 inhibitors until you reach it. Optional longevity genetic testing sequences about 400 genes, including the ones behind inherited high cholesterol, Lp(a) and statin side effects, and your clinician uses the results to choose your treatment.
Preval Health runs as a cash practice. We don't bill insurance, and care costs $99 a month. You can also pair us with a longevity clinic: the clinic handles imaging and the broad baseline, and we treat the lipids.
Common questions
What is a longevity clinic?
A longevity clinic works to extend healthy years of life across many conditions. Most combine broad testing (blood work, imaging such as whole-body MRI or coronary CT, fitness and body-composition scans) with coaching, and some add hormones, supplements or prescriptions. Programs range from a few hundred dollars a year for lab memberships to $19,000 a year or more for whole-body diagnostic programs, as of October 2026.
What does a longevity doctor do?
A longevity doctor reviews your risks for the diseases that shorten life most often (heart disease, cancer, diabetes, dementia) and builds a plan to lower them. In practice, the plan usually includes blood pressure, blood sugar, fitness, sleep, cancer screening and cholesterol. Ask any longevity doctor how they treat ApoB or LDL to a goal, because heart disease remains the leading cause of death in the US.
How much does a longevity clinic cost?
As of October 2026: lab-first memberships such as Function Health ($365 a year) and Superpower ($349 a year) sit at the low end. Human Longevity charges $599 for whole-genome sequencing and $8,000 to $19,000 a year for its programs. Wild Health starts at $362 a month, with a $25,000-a-year top tier. Fountain Life and Biograph don't list prices on their websites, so ask them directly.
How much does Fountain Life cost?
Fountain Life doesn't publish prices on its website as of October 2026. It offers three memberships (CORE, APEX and APEX Family) at centers in Dallas, New York, Orlando, Naples and Houston. Contact Fountain Life for current pricing.
Is there a longevity clinic near me, or can I do this online?
Whole-body diagnostic clinics such as Fountain Life, Human Longevity and Biograph run physical centers in a handful of cities. Lab-first memberships use local labs such as Quest. Telehealth services, including Preval Health, work from home, with blood drawn at a lab near you.
Why focus on cholesterol for longevity?
Heart disease killed 683,037 people in the US in 2024, more than any other cause, according to the CDC. LDL and the other ApoB-carrying particles cause atherosclerosis, the plaque behind most heart attacks and strokes, as the European Atherosclerosis Society consensus (Ference, 2017) concluded from genetic, observational and trial evidence. In the Cholesterol Treatment Trialists' meta-analysis, every 39 mg/dL drop in LDL-C cut major vascular events by about 22% and deaths from any cause by about 10%.
Do longevity clinics treat high cholesterol?
Some do. As of October 2026, Marek Health lists rosuvastatin, ezetimibe and Repatha, and Lifeforce prescribes statins and ezetimibe. Lab-first memberships such as Function Health measure ApoB and Lp(a) and explain the results without prescribing cholesterol medicines. Diagnostic clinics such as Biograph find the problem and work with your own doctor on treatment.
Does Preval Health take insurance?
No. Preval Health runs as a cash practice: we don't bill insurance or file prior authorizations. Care costs $99 a month, and we point you to the cash options for each medicine.
