Hone Health, and the alternatives

What Hone Health offers and costs as of October 2026, how its Heart Health program handles cholesterol, and who should pick which.

Online, nationwide in the US. Protocols written by a board-certified preventive cardiologist.

TL;DR

Hone Health runs an online longevity membership known for testosterone and hormone therapy, and in June 2026 it added a Heart Health program with medicines such as rosuvastatin. It suits people who want hormones and general longevity care in one app. If your LDL cholesterol (LDL-C) or ApoB sits far from goal, or you may need more than a statin, a practice that does only lipid care offers the full range of options.

What Hone Health offers (as of October 2026)

  • Treatments. Testosterone and hormone therapy for men and women, weight loss, sexual health, hair loss, thyroid care, heart health and supplements.
  • Getting started. A $65 biomarker test (50+ biomarkers, at home or at a lab) plus a telehealth consult with a licensed physician.
  • Memberships. Basic at $25 a month (labs every 6 months, consults available to buy, member pricing on select medicines) or Premium at $155 a month (regular labs, physician consults and full access to Hone's medicines). Medicines cost extra.
  • Hone Heart Health. Launched June 23, 2026. A Hone clinician reviews your results and builds a plan with medicines such as rosuvastatin, colchicine and metformin, plus supplements and lifestyle changes. An expanded cardiovascular panel costs extra. Hone lists rosuvastatin from $37 a month plus membership.

Why we start with cholesterol

Heart disease kills more Americans than any other cause, year after year, according to the CDC. Most of it starts with cholesterol-carrying particles (the ones tagged by ApoB, a protein on LDL and its cousins) lodging in artery walls.

Genetic, observational and randomized trial evidence all point the same way: these particles cause atherosclerosis, and the longer and higher your exposure, the more plaque builds (European Atherosclerosis Society consensus, Ference and colleagues, 2017). In the Cholesterol Treatment Trialists' analysis of statin trials, each 39 mg/dL drop in LDL-C cut major heart attacks and strokes by about a fifth. The FOURIER (2017) and ODYSSEY OUTCOMES (2018) trials showed that PCSK9 inhibitors lower events further on top of a statin.

Few longevity strategies have that much evidence behind them, so we focus there, with an LDL and ApoB goal, the right medicine to reach it, and rechecks that keep you there.

Hone Health may suit you if

  • You want testosterone or hormone therapy and general longevity care together
  • You like a low monthly membership with labs included
  • Your LDL runs modestly high and a statin will likely get you to goal

Preval Health may suit you if

A statin brings many people to goal, and Hone makes one easy to start. When it falls short (very high LDL, high Lp(a), statin side effects, or a goal below 55 mg/dL), the next step is ezetimibe, bempedoic acid or a PCSK9 inhibitor.

Lipid care is all we do. A board-certified preventive cardiologist wrote our treatment protocols, and licensed clinicians in our partner telehealth network deliver care and write prescriptions. We order ApoB and Lp(a) at the start, set your goal, and step treatment up from statins through PCSK9 inhibitors until you reach it. We run as a cash practice: $99 a month for care, medicines at cash prices, and no insurance billing.
