Editorial and Advertising Policy

Last updated: October 22, 2026

People use our guides to make decisions about their heart health. These are the rules we follow so that what we publish and advertise is accurate, balanced and honest about what we sell.

Who writes and reviews our content

  • Medical content is written or edited by our team and reviewed before publishing by Kaustubh Dabhadkar, MD, a board-certified cardiologist and Preval Health’s medical director.
  • Each guide shows the reviewer and the date it was last reviewed. We re-review core guides at least once a year and whenever major new evidence, guidelines, drug approvals or prices change.
  • We may use software tools, including AI, to help draft or check content. A person checks every fact and source before anything is published, and a clinician approves medical claims.

Evidence standards

  • We base medical claims on randomized trials, large meta-analyses, FDA-approved labeling and guidelines from bodies such as the American College of Cardiology and American Heart Association, and cite them on the page.
  • We state the size of an effect in plain numbers (for example, the percentage LDL drop in a named trial), and say who was studied.
  • We describe medicines only for their FDA-approved uses, and we present important risks and side effects alongside benefits.
  • Prices are dated (“as of” a month and year) and linked to the source. Prices change, and the price at checkout controls.
  • When evidence is limited or experts disagree, we say so.

Independence and conflicts of interest

  • We do not accept payment, free products or sponsorship from drug manufacturers, pharmacies, laboratories or device makers to publish, rank or recommend anything.
  • We currently use no affiliate links. If that changes, every affiliate link will be labeled on the page where it appears.
  • Comparison pages describe competitors fairly using their public information, list the date we checked it, and disclose that Preval Health offers a competing service.
  • Our medical director also publishes educational videos as HeartDocKD. When that content mentions Preval Health, it discloses his ownership.

Corrections

If you find an error, email support@prevalhealth.comwith “Correction” in the subject. We review reports within 5 business days, fix confirmed errors, and update the review date. Significant corrections are noted on the page.

Advertising standards

Every ad, landing page, email and social post we publish or pay for follows these rules:

  • Truthful and supported. Health claims must be backed by competent and reliable scientific evidence, consistent with FTC and FDA requirements. We do not use words like “cure,” “guaranteed” or “miracle,” and we do not imply results a typical patient would not get.
  • No promise of a prescription. Ads say that a licensed clinician decides whether treatment is appropriate. We never advertise a prescription medicine as available without a prescription.
  • Approved products only. We advertise only FDA-approved medicines for their approved uses, never compounded, unapproved or controlled substances.
  • Clear about who provides care. Ads and landing pages do not suggest that Preval Health or its medical director personally treats patients, and they link to Who Provides Your Care.
  • Clear pricing. Advertised prices include what is and is not covered (for example, medicine and lab costs) and any recurring charges.
  • Adults in states we serve. We target ads only to adults 18 and older in states where care is available or where people can join the waitlist.
  • Privacy-safe targeting. We do not target ads using people’s health conditions, upload patient or waitlist lists to ad platforms, or place advertising pixels on our website, intake or app. See our Privacy Policy.
  • Platform rules. We follow the healthcare and prescription-drug ad policies of every platform we use, including any certification they require.

Testimonials, reviews and endorsements

  • We publish only genuine reviews and stories from real patients, with their written permission, and never write, buy or edit reviews to change their meaning.
  • We never offer anything in exchange for a positive review, and we do not suppress negative reviews.
  • Patient stories show typical results, or clearly state what results people generally get.
  • Anyone paid or given anything of value to talk about Preval Health, including creators and clinicians, must clearly disclose it.
  • We do not use AI-generated people, fake doctors or before-and-after images.
